Qatar: Qatar-headquartered Al Meera Consumer Goods Co and French retail group Casino are planning to jointly develop a network of hypermarkets and supermarkets in the Middle East, the Peninsula has reported. The two firms have signed a strategic partnership to launch the joint project under the Geant and Geant Easy banners in selected countries in the region. Casino will provide assistance to Al Meera to open Geant hypermarkets and Geant Easy supermarkets in Qatar and Oman using internationally recognised methods and know-how developed by Casino and its partners and successfully applied in other GCC countries.
