Qatar: The Qatar Exchange index added 0.10% Thursday, finishing at 8,661.46 points. Shares of Mannai Corportation closed even at QR93.60. Earlier in the day, Mannai Corp subsidiary Golden Capital Investment Ltd. and EFG Capital Partners have received valid acceptances of their cash bid for Damas "in respect of 775,317,961 Damas shares, representing approximately 78.37% of the issued share capital of DIL." On March 28, the consortium offered around $445m for Damas, whose CEO Anan Fakhreddin welcomed Mannai and EFG as 'ideal partners'. "This effectively means that the Consortium has now acquired control of Damas and all Damas shares assented to the Bid (whether previously or whilst the Bid remains open for acceptance) will be purchased from accepting Damas shareholders at the bid price", Mannai said in a statement to the QE. The statement also revealed that the consortiu intends to delist Damas from the NASDAQ Dubai. [AMEInfo.com]
