Qatar: Qatar's trade ministry has recommended closing down 7,100 commercial stores, including barber shops and grocery stores operating in residential areas, Gulf Times has reported. The ministry also proposed that the licences for these stores should not be renewed beyond September 15, although a final decision on the matter has not been taken. Earlier this year, the Central Municipal Council had proposed relocating the shops into a central complex, and that the ministry of municipal affairs should allocate suitable sites for building the central complexes.
