Qatar: Qatar Railways Co has said construction of the QR130bn integrated railway network project in the country is set to start in May, the Peninsula has reported. The recently formed Qatar Railways Development Co, a 51-49 joint venture between Qatari Diar, represented by QRC and DB International, is the sole entity responsible for developing and integrating the railway network, which will connect the local network to neighbouring countries via the Bahrain-Qatar causeway, to create the region's first fully integrated railway system.
